A Primer of Venetian Burano Lace

I have so enjoyed reading this little book - it was packed full of things that I didn't know, and it was a fabulous read. It is softback and only 50 pages, but it packs a punch information-wise - the perfect primer, in fact.
I do recommend it if you would like to find out more about the history of Venetian lace production and changing fashions. Just click here for more details about the book.

  1. Thank you Jacqueline for this info. I have been to Burano a couple times. Both times the lace museum was closed ;-( so sad! But the first time I was able to watch some ladies making the lace at a small home shop. They were very interesting telling me which steps they each did, the daughters were there giving information and explaining.....was wonderful to see. And luckily I bought a piece. Very nice when you meet who the makers are. I also have a piece a niece brought back for me. The last trip it was difficult to find much of the really good lace and what you found was extremely expensive. I didn't find my little home shop as before. Maybe if you know more where to look better you can find it easier then it the touristy area. But this is a wonderful looking book to go along with my treasures.

Thank you for always keeping us informed of the special things you come across! We are enjoying our armchair travels through you.
